Our rooms and suites
Forming a 2,000m² architectural ensemble, Pieve Aldina offers 22 rooms and suites with vast volumes ranging from 35 to 120m², in four buildings: the Pieve, the main house, the Studiolo, the Conventino and the Allegato. Step back in time and discover the essence of Tuscan living: thick exterior walls, tiled roofs, strong wooden frames, brick or granite stone window frames, magnificent stone porticoes, airy courtyards.

Window on Tuscany
On the heights of one of Chianti's most beautiful valleys, in the heart of the vineyards that have made this exceptional terroir famous, surrounded by olive groves, Pieve Aldina embodies the soul of Tuscany. Like the paintings of Filippo Lippi, Fra Angelico or Piero della Francesca, the Tuscan landscape can be contemplated here as if through a picture frame. Each window opens onto a listed perspective that has preserved its original layout and aesthetics for centuries.
"With their stone facades taking on golden hues as the sun sets, the houses blend into their natural surroundings while opening out onto the panorama. The sunsets are spectacular."
Guillaume Foucher
A place steeped in history
In 1043, the entire historic hamlet was given by its owner, the Count of Piancaldoli, to his wife Aldina Ubaldini, from whom it now takes its name. One of the four residences, once the summer residence of the Bishops of Siena, is a listed Italian historic monument. The church it backs onto, Santa Maria Novella, is one of the most important examples of Romanesque architecture in Florence, dating from the 10th century.
" The architectural ensemble that makes up Santa Maria Novella has a very strong identity. You feel sheltered here, with the feeling of being guests of a centuries-old history. We restored the site under the scientific supervision of the "Soprintendenza Speciale" of Italian archaeology, fine arts and landscape. "
Guillaume Foucher

A sense of purity,
A taste for materials
Between XVIᵉ century frescoes and streamlined volumes, Pieve Aldina celebrates the best of Italian craftsmanship. Everything, from the blond stones of Pietra Serena to the rectangular floor tiles fashioned in Impruneta, is part of a slow-design approach thought to stand the test of time. "La Pieve" has been restored in keeping with the blue, pink and green stencils that adorn the walls of the ground-floor lounges. Upstairs, a vast salon with a ceiling adorned with neoclassical frescoes unfolds.
Everywhere, charming details mark the premises: trompe l'oeil skirting boards with imitation marble, putti and grotesques on the ceilings, acanthus leaf motifs on the walls...The other three houses - the Studiolo, the Conventino and the Allegato, also reveal magnificent woodwork in the bedrooms. This warm wood is complemented by a subtle variation of beiges, whites and browns, creating a serene atmosphere, gently reflecting the sun's rays.
